Alexis Cordesse
Born in France in 1971, Alexis Cordesse has been based in Havana, Cuba since 1998.
He studied Economics before becoming a photographer in 1991 and has also branched out into documentary films. He concentrated on the wars in Rwanda, Bosnia, Somalia and Afghanistan and was particularly interested in the post-war problems in those countries.
He has also documented the lives of four different HIV patients in France over a 3 year period and this work was later exhibited in Paris and Bordeaux during 'World Aids Day'. Nominee Member of Lookat since 1998. Full Member since 2001.

Cordesse's work has been published regularly in Libération, L'Evenement du Jeudi, L'Express, L'Humanité Dimanche and Télérama in France, The Independent in the UK, Marie Clairein South Africa and NZZ Wochenende in Switzerland. In 1994, he partcipated in the World Press Photo Masterclass and in 1996, he won a Golden Gate Documentary Film Award in the USA.
